The Lower Willow Creek Restoration Company was formed in 2010 to manage the Lower Willow Creek Restoration Project. The LWCRCo is a IRS designated 501 c 3 non-profit organization. They exist to transform the floodplain from its former mine scarred state to a more natural state. The Lower Willow Creek Restoration Company seeks to engage stakeholders and the community to make the floodplain a integral part of the community.
The Lower Willow Creek Restoration Project is being implemented in three phases. When these phases are completed, the land will be donated to the City of Creede to be used as open space for citizens and visitors a like. Another benefit of the project is that it will improve the beauty of the gateway to the City of Creede.
